Josep Maria Jodar

Once in a while you stumble upon some really cool pieces of what you’d call art, that tricky word been overused lately. For us, surf bums living next to a quiet gentle sea, sunshine is granted but waves are not and the idea of surfing as a day-to-day routine comes close to a psychedelic dream.

Then you come across Josep Maria Jodar’s work, an artist who can make you see what you desire the most, gracefully blending your casual mediterranean scenery and the california beach culture of the 50’s and 60’s, names like masnou, montgat, maresme or nacional II are the equivalent of rincon, topanga and the pch.

For those of you who don’t know, there are countless similarities between So-Cal and the Mediterranean shores; from climate to landscapes, palm trees, pitas and off-shores, orange groves, smog and dust, and a few point breaks here and there.

I hope you like it as much as we do:
